Appendixsities is a common disease in the world, and some patients were treated with antibiotic and they need no surgery, some patients need surgery. Appendectomy is a very simple operation but when appendixes is very severe, such as perforated   appendicitis, the surgery get difficult, when the diagnosis was delayed and the proper treatment was not done, these patients might die.

The reality is that in the past this type of severe case operation was not performed, and normally the patient was referred to the medical college hospital. But, it happened that one patient with severe case was not operated and had died. That patient might not be died if operation would be performed, then it was decided to do surgery for severe cases.

Fortunately, Bishal was healed and could go home. Thanks the Lord, who saves patients and us, and also thanks the people who prayed for Joyramkura Hospital.

Case Study-1:

A Successful Case Study

Bishal, a Youngman, came to our hospital with service abdominal pain in April 2022. His pain started two days back and he went to another hospital the day before. There ultrasonography (USG) was done, but no abnormality was found and he was given some medicines. His pain did not alleviate and he came to our hospital the next day.

On physical examination, he had severe tenderness on his right lower quadrant abdomen, and   also there was peritoneal sign, which suggested peritonitis. USG was done again and found that there was fluid in his lower abdominal cavity and there was tube like structure which is thought to be inflamed appendix. Then he was diagnosed as perforated appendicitis with peritonitis.

On that day, emergency operation was performed.  In his abdominal cavity, there was moderate amount of turbid ascites. His appendix was swollen and the base of it was perforated appendectomy and toileting was done and drainage tubes were placed.

He started oral feeding on the second day. Then it was delayed primary closer on the third day, because the wound had been semi close considering the risk of infection. On the seventh day, he complained the pain on his left lower lateral chest. His chest X-ray and USG showed atelectasis of left lower lobe and pleural effusion. So he was recommended to do bubble therapy, the training to expire to the tube placed in water.  This is the physiotherapy to heal atelectasis, that it was learned from a young Australian doctor who visited Joyramkura Hospital about ten years ago.

His chest pain was alleviated and the suture was removed on the ten day and then he was discharged on the eleventh day.
