It is a 3 years Diploma Course in Midwifery which was not so important to the students in the past. Normally, in hospital general nurses were used to make responsible as midwives for delivery but, now any hospital prefers midwives for delivery that increases the importance of this course. This course also qualifies students for becoming maternal health professionals who are capable and competent in working with communities. Also, they learn how to negotiate effectively and timely referring to Emergency Obstetric Centre (EOC).
Achieving the Gov.’s target to make skilled midwives in the country, BRAC University has been operating 6 academic sites in partnership with 6 NGOs located in different parts of the country.
