Greeting from the Board Chairman
It is known to all that the ongoing Covid-19 situation around the world has been affecting the organizations which are involved in developing the poor community people. Practically, most of the organizations in the country have reduced their activities of supporting the poor. The foreign donors are not in their positions to provide funds for the organizations because raising funds from different sources is now not easy. Like many organizations in the country, the GBC Christian Health Project (GBC-CHP) practice using internal resources to carry out the project activities. But, the income from the income-oriented activities is reduced due to the Covid-19 situation. However, during this difficult situation the project management is taking their best efforts to continue the project activities.
The reality is that though the hospital is facing many problems of continuing its services, but the management is trying best to make the hospital services as effective as possible. During this Covid-19 situation patients are not getting proper information about the hospital services what makes them misunderstood in coming to the hospital for treatment. In this situation the managements and staff members are continuing their quality services for the patients and the situation of hospital is improving day by day. Also, the management is continuing other programs like Primary Health Care (PHC), Diploma in Nursing Science, Developing Midwifery Course and Microcredit that all these programs are more or less affected by the Covid-19 situation. But, during this situation these programs are playing important roles in serving the patients, students and community people.
As the Board Chairman, I would like to clarify the matter that the GBC-CHP Board is always trying best to play leadership role in running this organization and confident enough of continuing effectively the project activities. During this situation we have to work hard believing in the Almighty Lord that He will bless us to continue His Mission.

Introduction
Message from the Executive Director
The GBC Christian Health Project (GBC-CHP) is a hospital-based organization established with the support of Australian Baptist Missionary Society (ABMS) in 1964. The main programs of this organization are Medical Care and Services, Primary Health Care (PHC), Diploma in Nursing, Diploma in Midwifery (in partnership with BRACU), Microfinance, Agriculture, Training and Participatory Community Development Project (PCDP). All these programs were operated effectively and successfully, but Covid-19 situation has been affecting the programs since April 2022. Though the Covid-19 patients are not treated at the hospital but they feel discouraged to come to hospital for treatment that they are in fear of infecting with corona virus. As a result, the hospital management is in a problem of making the patients and community people understood about the real situation of hospital. However, the management and staff members are trying best to make the patients and community people known about the real situation of hospital and are in the process of overcoming the covid-19 situation..
In the past this organization was supported by different donors to operate the programs and provided free services for the patients and community people. But, since 2008, this organization has been using own resources in running the programs and becoming a self-supporting organization. The policy of becoming a self-supporting organization is that each of the programs operated by this organization should be income oriented. Actually, as service charge, we are charging for the projects activities and the activities are mainly medical treatment & care, Diploma in Nursing Science, Diploma in Midwifery, Training and Microcredit. The service charges are used making the project self-operating.
The management is always trying best to increase its resources by equipping the hospital and the staff members. But, due to Covid-19, during the lockdown situation it is now very difficult to connect with the sources for equipping the hospital and other programs. Actually, Covid-19 is affecting all programs that running irregularly the project activities. As a result, the limited resources of organization are becoming more limited.
I also express my gratitude and grateful thanks to the Board of Directors, Church leaders, Donors, BRACU, Govt. Administrations, other Funding Partners and Individuals for their kind assistance and supports.
